Western Surfing Association Event #3

The Hook, Santa Cruz,

Event No. 3 Results

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 October, 2005 : - - Western Surfing Association, San Clemente, CA, October 5, 2005; The third competition of the Western Surfing Association 2005/2006 Hobie Championship Tour went down Sunday at The Hook in Santa Cruz.  The day before the event was super foggy. Sunday dawned bright with sunny conditions and fun waist high waves.  The NW swell that was forecast didn’t quite make it into The Hook, but conditions were contestable and the surfers made the best of what mother nature gave them. We had another great crowd of both contestants and spectators and had heats rockin’ from sun up to sundown.  Surfer’s from as far south as San Diego and as far north as San Mateo.

The Santa Cruz locals used their knowledge to their advantage with Sahara Ray taking the Girls shortboard 15 and under, Lexi Wilson the Girls Shortboard 17 and under, Monica Lee the Women’s Shortboard 30 and over and Cole Walter the Super Grom Boys 11 and under divisions.  Kaitlin McGuire of San Diego had an impressive showing in her first WSA event taking first place in both the Jr. Women’s Shortboard and Women’s 18 and over Longboard divisions.

Don’t miss out on the fun.  Our next contest is at Oceanside Harbor November 6.  November is primetime for Oceanside!  There are always fun waves.  Register early.  You can register online by clicking the link below or going to www.active.com and searching for WSA:
