"It’s great to be back in New York representing O’Neill and competing against top athletes from around the world,” said Rojas, the 2011 defending champion and race record time-holder of 3 hours and 56 minutes. “I’ve been training year-round and I am ready to better my winning time from last year’s event.” Last year’s SEA Paddle NYC raised over $350,000 for its charity beneficiaries and boasted more than 150 paddlers. The August 17 event hopes to surpass SEA’s 2011 efforts, which would make this year the most successful fundraiser to date for the non-profit organization.
