Bruce Grant and Scott Anderson join Shaper Supply Co Masters Series

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 August, 2013 : - - Shaper Supply was initially launched to provide surfboard building materials and one-on-one surfboard shaping lessons to the Los Angeles surf community. After a successful start and positive feedback from the basic shaping lessons, Shaper Supply is proud to announce its new “Masters Series Shaping Lesson.”

Shaper Supply has partnered with local, legendary shapers, Bruce Grant and Scott Anderson, as veteran instructors to offer a more robust and in-depth surfboard shaping lesson. This “Master Series Shaping Lesson” can also be used for shapers who would like to refine their existing skills. The series is not a private demo - students will be walked through each step of shaping their own board and spend the majority of the lesson shaping the surfboard. The lesson includes glassing, and the final product belongs to the student to keep and surf.

With more than 40,000 boards under his belt, Bruce Grant has shaped for companies such as Zephyr, Dave Sweet, Spyder Surfboards, Con Surfboards and many more. He continues today to shape under his own label Bruce Grant Surfboards. He trained under Dewey Weber, Harold Iggy, Donald Takayama, and also spent time in the bay with Dale Velzy. Bruce has been featured in many prestigious events such as Sacred Craft, Billabong's Art of Shaping, and The Boardroom. A lesson with Bruce Grant will provide the student with over 50 years of shaping knowledge.

Veteran shaper Scott Anderson is a well-rounded shaper who has dialed in many popular board models from performance short board to classic nose-riders, from finless to classic fish to mid-lengths, and everything in between.  He started his shaping career in the early-80's working at the rootsy surfboard factory, Natural Progression, and eventually started Anderson Surfboards and the glassing factory Aquatech in 1988. Since then, his shop has produced more than 25,000 pro/amateur boards and other custom surf-craft.
